Blog 2

I have always read and heard about the Brown vs. Board of Education case. I read it in school, did reports on it, but I never really saw the impact it had on the educational system we have today. Well I did but I never really understood.
Now that I want to be a teacher I can more fully see and understand how big of an impact the case has had. I look around to the students in my 2nd grade class I volunteer in and I see so many divers students. What if we still were segregated? the students who I know and love would not get as good of an education as any other student. That makes me sad. Each child should get the opportunity for a good education.
How boring would it be if we didn't have such a diverse scene in our schools?  There are so many fun opportunities to learn about different cultures and backgrounds. Things that I would never have known if the schools were still segregated. This week we had a multicultural week . Every students wore something from their family or cultural. IT WAS SO COOL!  I had a blast seeing so many students representing who they are. I loved it.
I just can't even imagine a school system that is not the way we have it now. I am so grateful for what we have now.
